Bringing Advanced Care Closer to Home in Ghana
Sanford World Clinic operates four healthcare centers in Ghana, providing primary care to thousands of patients each year. As community needs grow, so does the demand for advanced services. Today, many patients lack access to affordable surgery, emergency care, stroke treatment and specialized newborn care. This can lead to delayed treatment, preventable disability, unnecessary travel and avoidable loss of life.
With support from donors like you, Sanford World Clinic is expanding services in Ghana. Over time, the four clinics will grow beyond outpatient care to includes services such as surgery, diagnostic imaging, emergency care, newborn intensive care and stroke evaluation and treatment.

Kasoa Expansion Project
Estimated Opening: August 2027
Sanford World Clinic has launched the Kasoa Expansion Project to improve access to surgical care for residents of the Ewutu Senya East Municipality, one of the fastest growing communities in West Africa.
Community Impact
The expansion can help bring essential surgeries closer to home, including cesarean sections, trauma care, hernia repairs and appendectomies.
Instead of traveling long distances or waiting for referrals, more patients will be able to access timely care within their own community.
Expanded services can also improve access to emergency care for mothers and babies, helping families receive treatment when every minute matters. Earlier intervention can reduce complications, strengthen local health services and expand the care available.
The project will also help improve emergency response for accidents and other urgent medical needs while creating opportunities to grow local clinical expertise and capacity.
Economic Impact
Access to care closer to home can reduce travel, lodging and other costs for patients and families. It can also mean less time away from work, school and daily responsibilities.
